Community Trust Company (referred to as CTC) respects the privacy expectations and rights of its customers regarding financial information, which CTC has or gathers in the normal course of business.
Collecting Customer Information
CTC collects, retains, and uses information about individual customers only when we believe it would be useful (and allowed by law) in administering our business and to provide products and services, and other opportunities to customers. This information is obtained from application information, transaction information and consumer report information.
CTC will use a customer's personally indentifying information in our normal course of business. Personal information will not be sold or distributed to other parties for marketing purposes.
Sharing Information
CTC does not share information about our customers with other parties except in order to conduct our business, comply with applicable law, and protect against fraud. We may also provide information to regulatory authorities and law enforcement agencies in accordance with applicable law.
Maintaining Accurate Information
CTC is concerned about the accuracy of customer information and, therefore, we will not disclose nonpublic personal information about former customers after two years from the time they cease to be our customers. For the first two years, however, we may share this information in the same manner and to the same categories of the other parties as we do with current customers.
Information We May Disclose
We must disclose certain nonpublic personal information about our customers to nonaffiliated third parties who provide services on our behalf, such as the company that performs the data servicing on our fiduciary accounts. Although this disclosure is not subject to the opt out, we do require that the servicer maintains the confidentiality of the information to at least the same extent that we must maintain and will not use or further disclose the information for any other purpose.
Security Procedures
CTC is committed to the security of your financial and personal information. All of our operational and data processing systems are in a secure environment that protects your account information from being accessed by third parties. We maintain and grant access to customer information only in accordance with our internal security standards. Additionally, each employee is required to follow our bank's code of conduct, which states that all customer information is considered private and privileged and is to be used by them solely for the purpose of providing you with our services.
CTC provides training and communications programs designed to educate our employees about the meaning and requirements of our strict standards for data security and confidentiality.
Protecting your Privacy online
CTC does not use "cookies". (A cookie is an entry placed in a file on your hard drive by a web site that allows it to monitor your use of the web site, usually without your knowledge). If you choose to send us an email or inquire on the web site via electronic mail the information you provide will be maintained to process your request or inquiry. The information you provide to CTC is protected under the same privacy guidelines that we follow for our customers.
Please note that email is not necessarily secure against interception and that the email features of this web site are not encrypted.
Changes To This Privacy Policy
CTC does reserve the right to modify or supplement this Privacy Policy at any time. IF we do make material changes, we will provide current customers with a revised notice that describes our new practices.
